Recipe for submitting a story to “The Instruction Manual NOT Included With Your Child”

imageWe are looking for inspirational, true stories from parents and professionals doing extraordinary things in parenting. The parenting story you have is one that opens the heart and rekindles the spirit. Your submissions should be inspirational and easy to read. We are looking for insights that will lift up any parent confronted with the many mysteries of parenthood. We hope that when parents read the book they enjoy and relish the writing because it’s a simple, living art piece that touches the lives of the readers and helps them discover basic principles they can use in their parenting. We encourage personal reflections that may be filled with vivid images created by using the five senses. Parenting is a massive and often mysterious and wonderful pathway which we want to illuminate with your contributions.
Parenting stories should have a beginning, middle and an ending that often closes with a punch - creating emotion rather than simply talking about it. We are looking for Parenting stories that have heart, but also something extra...an element that makes us all feel more hopeful, more connected, more thankful, more passionate and better at our parenting lives in general. A good parenting story covers the range of human emotions that causes tears, laughter, goose bumps an “Ah Ha,” or any combination of these.
